The jury of Amber Heard vs Johnny Depp defamation trial awarded Depp $15Mi in damages. However, according to one of Heard's lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft, Heard has no such amount. Which is not an unusual situation to happen in the legal environment. Some options Heard has are:
- Considering her earning potential, part of her wages could be garnished as a result. Her participation in the film, however, was also thrown into controversy as it was reported her screen-time was severely trimmed down and thousands have called for her role as Meera to be recast.
- File for bankruptcy for partial discharge of debts through insolvency. That's because the bankruptcy law does not protect malicious injury by the debtor and the jury form said 'defamation with malice'.
